The new KSO College of art and design, designed by Querkraft Architekten, is a flexible, open campus that fosters creativity and interaction. The architecture acts as a blank canvas, with a design that encourages both teachers and students to shape and personalize the space. Inside, workshop-style materials like polished screed, Heraklith acoustic panels, and galvanized railings create an industrial, hands-on atmosphere.

The hybrid construction combines precast concrete and gable beams, extending to the outdoor area, where a workshop yard with a crane track adds a unique feature. The building’s folding doors allow easy connection between exhibition rooms, workshop studios, and the theater studio, promoting collaboration both inside and out. The campus features an open, park-like space, blending soft and hard surfaces for various activities like exhibitions, lounging, and workshops, encouraging flow and exchange between interior and exterior spaces.
